We’re championing our SaaStock Founder Members. The leaders and experts building the SaaS companies today that’ll shape our industry and the world of SaaS tomorrow. In this series, we’ll be profiling some of our SFM members who’ve been a part of the membership to help them scale their SaaS. They deserve the spotlight, so let’s get right into it.

Today’s post features Bohumil Pokstefl, a CEO, an entrepreneur and a SFM member.

SFM SaaStock Founder Member spotlight - Bohumil

1. Who are you and what does your SaaS do?

Hi I am Bohumil “Bo” Pokstefl and I am the CEO of a social media management tool called Kontentino. Kontentino is tailored for teams looking for streamlined and transparent workflow.

It is like Asana and HootSuite having a baby.

2. When did you start your business? Did you do so alone? Explain why.

We started in 2014 as an internal tool for one of the best central European Advertising agencies, Triad. After 2 years of internal use, everyone was happy with it and Triad was looking for someone to commercialise their tool. That’s when I came in.

3. As a SaaS founder, what’s that one challenge you are facing in your SaaS at the moment?

I am sure I am not the only one having trouble finding talent.

Talented and passionate people are the building blocks of a successful SaaS.

This has always been a challenge but I believe we cracked the code and were able to hire 25 new talents in the past year.

The headcount growth and making the organisation more mature is quite a new and challenging task for our managers, and me as well.

4. How are you looking to overcome this?

The management team has never worked as a group of team leads, of such big teams and organisations. Therefore, we are getting a lot of great advise from our coaches and advisors on how to make the teams work as one.

5. If you had a magic wand, what would you change (about your SaaS or externally) to enable faster growth?

I would love to become a super data-driven company and combine it with our gut-feeling decision-making. We are getting there but it is a super long process and we need it now.

Secondly, we have a ton of ideas and activities in the backlog. Being able to choose the right ones and execute them properly would be the next thing to do, which would escalate our growth.

6. What do you wish you were told before you started/founded your company?

Be more aware of and confident about the value I bring to the company.  And I should never assume things – I should have proof, data, or written agreements.

7. As a SaaStock Founder Member, what are the key learnings you’ve gained so far to get you closer to $10MM ARR?

It’s not about idea, it’s all about execution.

Having passionate talent is important. But, getting senior people sooner is even more important.

Build your network with experienced people who can become your advisors.

8. Finally, what do you aspire to become, personally or professionally, within the next 12 months?

Becoming more mature as a leader, with more thought-through decision-making processes.

Being a leader for almost 50 talented professionals will challenge how efficiently I interact with them. I’m always super friendly and transparent to everyone. We were like a family. Keeping the professionalism and friendship balanced is going to be crucial this year.
